In 2015, actress Kim Fields, best known for her role on the TV show The Facts of Life, joined the cast of the hit series The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Kim surprised fans when it was announced that she wouldn’t be returning for a second season.
Although no official reason was given, rumors circulated that Kim left, in part, because the producers hadn’t edited out the scenes where the cast was speculating that her husband, Christopher Morgan, was gay. Christopher, sitting next to his wife, tells Oprah: Where Are They Now? that he wasn’t familiar with the show when Kim signed on to do it, and he was shocked when he was personally attacked.
“My initial reaction to Real Housewives was, ‘All right, great, my wife’s going to be working on a show,'” Chris says. “I’d never seen the show before, so when crazy attacks started coming against me specifically because of my wife’s involvement in the show, I realized quite quickly, part of the picture that we had to form together was strength in the face of this foolishness.”
Additionally, Kim reveals that her experience on Real Housewives made her realize why she prefers working in scripted television.
