The Story Behind the Saved by the Bell Principal’s Catchphrase

In 1988, the Disney Channel unveiled a show called Good Morning, Miss Bliss. However, you probably know it better by the name it took on after it was retooled: Saved by the Bell.

For 12 years, Dennis entertained fans with his iconic high-pitched laugh and memorable catchphrase, “Hey, hey, hey, hey, what is going on here?” In this Oprah: Where Are They Now? clip, the fan favorite reveals the original inspiration behind his best line and how he bonded with the cast behind the scenes.
